Cocoon Timing & Soul Nourishment

Cocoon Timing & Soul Nourishment

Don't you find the ups and downs of life exhausting sometimes?

I know I do.

I'm so thankful that there's more to all this, then just the day to day.

Recently, while I was going about my morning, I pondered how long caterpillars need to wait (surrender) to a cocoon before God turns them into a butterfly?

I had to google it.

This is what the internet told me.

'Most butterflies stay inside their cocoons for between 5 to 21 days. If they're in really harsh places like deserts, some will stay in there for up to 3 years waiting for rain or good conditions. The environment needs to be ideal for them to come out, feed on plants and lay their eggs, essentially carry on with the next chapter of their life.'

This reminds me that our all knowing God knows when the conditions are right for our next chapter, adventure etc. We can trust the cocoon waiting period right now because He's doing a good work in each of us. We can just focus on listening to His voice and obeying His instruction, taking one day at a time.

You probably know that those you surround yourself with, will influence you subconsciously. For example you know which friends to go to, to get some encouragement.

You may already know that you feel more uplifted on a sunny day, compared to a cloudy grey day.

But, have you ever considered how your creator is what your soul needs?

It amazes me that no matter how I’m feeling, scattered in my mind, settled, focussed, energized, sleepy, foggy-minded, God remains the same.

He can speak to me, comfort me, be there for me no matter what I’m feeling or going through.

I’m trying to practice coming to Him in whatever state I’m in this year.

It’s new for me. It’s deepening my relationship with Him and I’m so grateful for His unchanging, always faithful ways.

He is brighter than the sun, for He created the sun, and more encouraging than any friend, because He created them too!

Are you in need of some soul food?

I urge you, to sit with Him and meditate on His goodness.
